Good news on the Housing legal advice front from Suffolk Law Centre! We are delighted that Bury St. Edmunds Court has welcomed our proposal to run a pro bono Possession Court Duty service there; our Housing Advisor Lucy Davies was back at BSE Court earlier this week, advising unrepresented litigants.
A timely reminder to anyone who receives an eviction notice to attend court – a Duty Advisor can provide the legal expertise to give you clarity on your next steps, potentially to challenge the case against you, negotiate more time for you to find alternative accommodation or actually prevent you from losing your home.
And, yet more good news: we are so pleased to welcome Salma Zuberi as our new Housing Solicitor! Salma will soon be contacting local advice agencies, community and statutory providers to introduce herself, find out what housing advice needs they are seeing and discussing how we might be able to assist.
