Suffolk Law Centre

Providing access to specialist legal help for the community.

What We Do

Suffolk Law Centre is based in Ipswich and provides legal advice, casework, support and information to empower people in Suffolk to understand and assert their legal rights.

We are a Registered Charity (No. 1176229) and we rely on grants and donations to offer our services free of charge as a non-profit organisation.

We work in partnership with other organisations to support the diverse communities of Suffolk and East Anglia to:

  • gain equal access to justice
  • challenge injustice and inequality

We are a Specialist Quality Mark holder, contracted with the Legal Aid Agency.

Our Solicitors are regulated by the Solicitors Regulation Authority (SRA).

Our immigration and asylum work is regulated by the Office of the Immigration Services Commissioner (OISC).

Our mission is to support people who would otherwise struggle to access legal advice, particularly minority, disadvantaged or underrepresented groups.

Suffolk Law Centre is committed to being an inclusive and non-discriminatory organisation.

We firmly oppose any form of discrimination and actively strive to confront prejudice and inequality. As part of this commitment, we want to make Suffolk Law Centre a place where everyone feels comfortable to come to us when they need our help.

We are currently looking at how we can work with local partners and stakeholders to improve what we do and to ensure we provide a service that is welcoming to everyone.
