Suffolk Law Centre Launches the adJust Hub: Supporting Neurodivergent People at Work

Suffolk Law Centre is pleased to launch our ‘adJust Hub’ – an online resource for young (and older) neuro-divergent (ND) people to support them with information on reasonable adjustments their employment rights and how to enforce them.

Aimed at the younger ND community, but applicable to all who need disability reasonable adjustments in the workplace, the adJust Hub has information on how to apply for a job, when and how to disclose your ND or disability, and how to ask for the adjustments required to help you enter the world of work, stay in work and flourish in your work place.

Launched as we reach the end of a 3-year grant from the Baring Foundation and support from Law Centres Network, the adJust Hub has been created to bring together information, resources, ideas and support organisations into one place so both employees and employers can access what they need to ensure neuro diverse people are better supported in the workplace.

Julie Baker, SLC’s Discrimination Caseworker said, “This Hub has been informed by our work supporting clients to challenge unlawful disability discrimination. We have also listened to what other specialist disability organisations and their service users have told us, and have designed the Hub accordingly.”

The adJust Hub is accessible via our website: adJust Info Hub and created as a collaborative project with other specialist support organisations in Suffolk, and with the support of good practice local employer, East Of England Co-Op.

“By focusing on the experience of neurodiverse young people as they try to navigate that often difficult point of leaving education and entering the job market, we hope to have created a resource with the potential to help employees, employers and those seeking employment to avoid the stress of lengthy litigation, and instead to adopt best practice that supports neuro-divergent and other disabled people to join, stay and flourish at work.” Richard Hinton, Discrimination Solicitor at SLC.

Our adJust Hub will continue to develop and evolve as more people use it, and we actively encourage feedback and ideas to help it to grow.

The adJust Hub follows the success of the Autism Education Leavers Passport School Leavers Passport – SLC and DAWN – Suffolk Law Centre co-created with Disability Advice and Welfare Network (DAWN) in 2024 during the first year of this project.
