We Are Recruiting New Trustees

Are you concerned about Access to Justice?

Suffolk Law Centre launched in 2018 to provide free legal advice and representation to people in Suffolk who cannot afford to pay for private lawyers.

We have shared Trustees with our founder Ipswich and Suffolk Council for Racial Equality (ISCRE). But, as we have grown significantly, we now need our own Board, so are looking for new trustees, including a Chair.

As a Trustee, you will help us to shape our strategic direction and ensure good governance.

This could be your first trustee role, or you could bring a wealth of knowledge from another charity.

We are keen to attract people with a varied skillset who share our values of inclusion and equality.

We want our Board to reflect the diverse communities we seek to support, so particularly welcome applications from Black, Asian & ethnic minorities, people with disabilities and LGBTQ+ people.

Full Board meetings will take place about 6 times a year, usually for a few hours in the evening.

Trustee positions are unpaid, but we don’t expect trustees to be out of pocket for carrying out their role, so we always cover expenses.

Please accept our apologies as our new website is currently under construction. We will include summary information about our work in the application pack.

Deadline for completed applications is: Monday 20th February 2023 at 9am.
